Matthew Sima, a second-year graduate student in the Jaffé laboratory in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, wins second place in 2022 Geosyntec Groundwater Student Paper Competition for his paper entitled Kinetics of Perfluorooctanoic and Perfluorooctane Sulfonic Acid Biodegradation by Acidimicrobium sp. Strain A6 during the Feammox Process.  In addition to a $500 prize Matthew was invited to give a seminar at Geosyntec describing his research.  Geosyntec is one of the major environmental remediation companies with operations world-wide.   Congratulations Matthew!
