M. Reza Moini will join Princeton’s CEE faculty next year as an assistant professor. At Princeton he will advance civil engineering technologies for architected materials and additive manufacturing, drawing inspiration from biomimetic designs. He is particularly motivated by the intellectual challenge of understanding the complex behaviors of 3D-printed materials. He aims to translate research discoveries into practical solutions in energy, construction, and defense sector.

Reza is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering at Purdue University. He received his B.S. degree from Qom University in Iran and his M.S. degree from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, both in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Moini has worked in the construction industry as a structural engineer and a lead civil engineer for more than seven years, most recently from 2013 to 2015 at Collins Engineers, Inc. in Milwaukee, WI.
